Back in May, Maiquel Falcao was released from the UFC when some lingering legal issues stemming from a 2002 assault charge resurfaced earlier this year. Falcao is a veteran of the sport and has an impressive record of 28-4 with 1NC. He was just recently signed to fight for Bellator Fighting Championship.

Earlier today Tatame.com reported that Falcao unfortunately suffered a heart attack during training and is currently in the ICU of a hospital in Brazil.

Maiquel is still on the Intensive Care Unit and might stay there for few more days, when he’ll go through a catheterization. He’s lucid and improving fast”, his manager Marcelo Brigadeiro told TATAME on Wednesday.

An update on the situation came just after the initial report thanks to Sherdog.com. Sherdog spoke with Falcao’s manager Marcelo Brigadeiro

Brigadeiro said his client has been hospitalized at Holy House of Mercy’s intensive care unit in Pelotas since Sunday. Falcao is presently awaiting cardiac catheterization and an angiogram for further diagnosis.

“His wife told me he suddenly suffered from a huge pain in the chest, and when they got into the hospital the doctors concluded he had a myocardial infarction,” Brigadeiro explained. “The procedure is expected to happen late this Wednesday. If Falcao didn’t go to the hospital as fast as he did, he would have died.”

According to Brigadeiro, the 30-year-old Falcao has never suffered from any health issues, but did note that there is a history of cerebral ischemia in the fighter’s family. The manager is worried, but optimistic about his client’s career.

Wow talk about misleading articles, I clicked on this because of the picture attached which is a picture of Tim Sylvia as well as the UFC veteran in the title. Falcao fought once in the UFC he was hardly a vetern, I wish him a full recovery but if I see your name attached to another article I wont waste my time reading it, I cant stand being dragged in by misleading bullshit.

Curious if you can read, maybe next time read the title of the article. Not sure how talking about a guy who had a heart attack is misleading. When you are done with Hooked on Phonics let me know. Come back when you can read, that might be a prerequisite when going to any website that contains news. Just saying.

The best thing here is the Bowtie comment. God bless Falcao, hope he recovers fully. MMA-suck-a at least has a fair name.

  • Schmilva says:

Totally misleading. Whatever the title, the picture should not have been attached to it. Yellow journalism.

I’m still not getting what you deem as misleading. It pretty much states a fact and is followed by details of that fact. So…. whatever color of journalism you’re seeing you might want to see if you are color blind. I didn’t write the piece..but I’m curious what in the hell is misleading?
