“MMA Onslaught” video game presents Bellator 71 as first entire MMA event streamed live on Gametrailers.com

CHICAGO, Ill. (June 19, 2012) – Bellator Fighting Championships will stream the entire Bellator 71 fight card LIVE for FREE without commercial interruption on leading video game web site, Gametrailers.com, on Friday, June 22 at 6 pm ET to promote Bellator’s new video game, “MMA Onslaught,” which debuts this summer. Throughout the night, fans will get a first-look at the MMA promotion’s first video game offering.

“We are taking this opportunity to dedicate an entire event to showcase our new video game, ‘MMA Onslaught’ and will substitute commercial inventory with an awesome first-look at the game,” Bellator Chairman & CEO Bjorn Rebney said. “We are confident both fight fans and gamers will enjoy our first foray into the gaming world.”

Bellator will also be streaming the fight card on Ustream, Spike.com and Bellator.com, along with various other MMA and video game websites to be announced later this week.

Emanating from the Mountaineer Casino Racetrack & Resort in Chester, West Virginia, Bellator 71 features the quarterfinals of the Bellator Summer Series Light Heavyweight Tournament, plus renowned heavyweight striker Brett Rogers (11-4-1) makes his Bellator debut against veteran Kevin Asplund (15-1). Rogers, fighting out of St. Paul, Minn., has fought many of the world’s best heavyweights, including Fedor Emelianenko, Josh Barnett, Andrei Arlovski and Alistair Overeem.

Bellator Fighting Championships’ Summer Series continues July 20 live and free with the fall season premiering in September on MTV2 and Epix2. In 2013, Bellator will move to its permanent television home, Spike TV. Bellator, Latin for Warrior, is partnered with entertainment industry leaders Viacom and Fremantle Entertainment, and is the world’s leading tournament-based mixed martial arts organization.
