CHICAGO, Ill. (June 28, 2012) — As Bellator Fighting Championships prepares its groundbreaking television alliance in 2013, the promotion has found its exclusive US based Spanish language broadcast partner in mun2, part of the Telemundo Communications Group.

Beginning on Friday June 29, mun2 will broadcast a series of action-packed, Spanish language highlight shows recapping previous Bellator events including all the dramatic knockout and highlight reel finishes Bellator has become known for.

Bellator 60 will be the first event broadcast on mun2, and will feature an epic Featherweight World Championship fight between Pat Curran and Joe Warren that left the Bellator crowd on its feet.  Additionally, a collection of Featherweight Tournament Quarterfinals fights will be shown with the winner of the Season 6 Tournament earning a guaranteed title shot and a $100,000 payday. With a number of dynamic finishes and impressive performances, Bellator 60 will be an explosive start to new mun2 alliance.

Every LIVE Bellator event in 2012 and 2013 will be seen live in mun2 in Spanish language.   The mun2 broadcast team will feature the long time Bellator Spanish language commentating team of George X and Manny Rodriguez, who hold the distinct honor of announcing every Bellator event in history, dating back to Bellator’s debut in 2009.

Bellator is gearing up for its July 20th Summer Series event from The University of South Florida’s Sun Dome in Tampa, Florida. The event marks Bellator’s 72nd event in the promotion’s illustrious history, spanning over four years and producing hundreds and jaw dropping “Bellator Moments.”

Reuniting a partnership that saw mun2 air 22 live Bellator events spanning the promotion’s second and third seasons, Bellator has returned to the broadcasting giant that is mun2 to reach a unique collection of bicultural Latinos. mun2 is broadcast to more than 34 million homes nationwide, further expanding Bellator’s landmark TV distribution alliance — one of the largest in fighting sports history.

“Both Bellator and mun2 have both experienced tremendous  growth since our earlier alliance, so when the possibility of re-aligning with mun2 for anything/everything Bellator Spanish language in the US,  the move was a natural fit,” said Bellator Chairman & CEO Bjorn Rebney. “Since our first event, Bellator has recognized and respected Hispanic consumers as some of the  greatest MMA fans in the world, and this partnership ensures that audience will have a new spectacular home where it can watch Bellator LIVE and Best Of on a weekly basis.”

“We’re all very excited to have Bellator return to mun2,” said SVP, Programming and Production Flavio Morales.  “mun2 is all about bringing Latinos their stars, music and sports.  There is no question Latinos love MMA and we are glad to make mun2 the home for Bellator once again.”
