Happy 4th of July!

Bellator: MMA Onslaught has been released today on Xbox 360 and PS3 today. The arcade style fighting game was announced earlier this year in association with Viacom Entertainment Group’s 345 Games and Spike TV.

“Bellator has a roster of many of the world’s most exciting fighters, and we are thrilled to work with 345 Games to let fans experience our organization in a whole new way,” said Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney. “Instead of just watching Michael Chandler’s (Pictured) incredible takedowns or Patricky Pitbull’s devastating knockout power, fans can now get in the cage with ‘Bellator: MMA Onslaught’ and either fight with or against Bellator’s finest.”

The game can be purchased for $15 on Xbox Live Arcade (1200 Microsoft Points) and the Playstation Network.

This game is based on Bellator Fighting Championships, a single elimination Mixed Martial Arts tournament. It is a first of its kind, a fast paced arcade style MMA fighting game with easy to understand controls that enable players to quickly master the clinch and ground game. Design your own fighter and compete both online or locally against other players’ creations and the best fighters Bellator has to offer to level your fighter, master MMA techniques, unlock moves, earn belts and climb to the top of the world rankings. For bragging rights, players who gain the most wins and XP will top the “Onslaught Leader Boards” online and can have the opportunity to be recognized in upcoming Bellator fights live on-air during broadcast episodes.

“It was imperative that we create a mixed martial arts game accessible to all types of players, not just the hardcore MMA fan,” 345 Games exec Dan Yang stated. “Fortunately, with ‘Bellator: MMA Onslaught,’ the player doesn’t need a doctorate in gaming or MMA to enjoy the non-stop action and excitement of the game.”
