Korea’s Seung Hwa Han steps in for John Tuck at PXC 33

|

Press Release:

Mixed Martial Arts is a volatile and rough sport, where anything can and will happen. There will be a change in the Main Event of the upcoming PXC-33 Fight Card, as contender from Guam, Jon Tuck, has suffered an injury and has not been cleared by doctors to compete in next week’s PXC Lightweight Title Fight. His opponent, the PXC Lightweight Champion, Harris Sarmiento, immediately agreed to a new Main Event non-title fight against Korea’s Seung Hwa Han, and undefeated fighter with 3 wins and 0 losses as a professional, and over 6 wins with 0 losses as an amateur. PXC-33 will feature 9 high caliber MMA bouts on September 1st at The Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig, Manila, Philippines, and will feature the best fighters in the Philippines and Asia-Pacific region.

“This is unfortunate, as the match between Harris Sarmiento and Jon Tuck was extremely anticipated, however, Harris will retain his belt…and we will most likely set the Jon Tuck fight for some time in the near future,” stated PXC’s CEO, E.J. Calvo.
PXC VP & Match-Maker, Eli Monge, stated, “In true warrior fashion, Harris Sarmiento accepted a fight against a very dangerous Korean opponent one week out. We have been interested in Han for a while, and happy he has been training hard and ready to take the challenge against one of the toughest Lightweights in the world.”

Han hails from South Korea and competes out of Jeonju First Gym, and is coached by Korean Top Team. PXC fans have seen big success recently with MMA fighters from Korea, including PXC Welterweight Champion, Lim Hyun Gyu from Korean Top Team, who was also recently signed to fight for The UFC.

Calvo added, “Look for Han to try to make name for himself with this opportunity to immediately fight the PXC Lightweight Champ. This could be history in the making, since anything can happen in MMA!”

PXC 33 will be broadcast Live from The Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig, Manila, on Saturday, September 1st, and will feature huge professional MMA matchups showcasing fighters from The Philippines, US Mainland, Hawaii, Guam, Japan, and Korea.

PXC is presented by San Mig Strong Ice and Sports 5. With special thanks to e-Games, Holiday Inn Manila Galleria, Fitness First, FHM Philippines, FHM.com.ph, Premiere Condoms, Healthway Agility Phil, Beer Below Zero, Real Sports Radio, Loqal.ph, SM Tickets and Ticketworld.
