Ole Laursen will not be competing at ONE FC 6: Rise of Kings

|

Ole ‘Iron Fist’ Laursen will not be competing at ONE Fighting Championship’s upcoming ‘Rise of Kings’ event, which is set to go down on October 6th at the Singapore Indoor Stadium, in Singapore.

Although it was reported earlier that Laursen would be facing Zorobabel Moreira for the 155-lbs title on October 6th, the match-up was eventually scrapped by ONE FC officials.

Laursen informed fans, through Facebook, that he would not be fighting at the event.

As the rumour mill continues to churn with stories, an injury could be an indicator as to why ‘Iron Fist’ was taken off the fight card.

ONE Fighting Championship is set to portray 3 title fights at ONE FC 6: Rise of Kings, although the only confirmed match-up for now is a title tilt between Featherweights Eric Kelly and Honorio Banario. Eduard Folayang is also set to have a shot at a ONE FC belt, following his win over Felipe Enomoto at ONE FC 5: Pride of a Nation. An opponent, however, is yet to be named for the Filipino fighter.

Meanwhile, a new opponent for Zorobabel Moreira should be announced shortly by the Singapore-based promotion, following Ole Laursen’s unexpected expulsion from the card. The Brazilian is coming off a spectacular TKO win over Roger Huerta at ONE FC 4: Destiny of Warriors.

The 6th instalment of the organization is set to be headlined by a Superfight between former DREAM titleholder Shinya Aoki, and Muayfit’s Arnaud ‘The Game’ Lepont.
