RUFF Journey to premiere on November 27th

|

Press Release – Monday, 26th November 2012

The long-awaited reality documentary series RUFF Journey will make its network television debut on Tuesday, November 27, bringing RUFF, its fighters, and Chinese MMA into homes across China on weekly basis.

An in depth look at the lives of some of China’s top emerging athletes, the 10-part RUFF Journey will chronicle the organization’s first MMA season leading up to the February 2013 RMB 1,000,000 Super Fight.

“We said from day one that the way to grow RUFF is to grow our fighters; make them national stars, national heroes. And really that’s what we expect to get out of the reality show,” comments RUFF founder and CEO Joel Resnick. “The goal is just to let the general public know who these athletes are, who they’re fighting for, why they’re fighting, the sacrifices they’ve made, what MMA is about, what RUFF is about.”

Produced in association with Emmy Award-winning Los Angeles-based Mandt Bros. Productions, RUFF Journey will air weekly on the Shandong Sports Channel, Xinjiang 10th Channel and the Jiangxi Sports Channel, with more stations expected to be announced shortly.

Culminating with the 2013 RMB 1,000,000 Super Fight, China’s first MMA national championship event, RUFF Journey will provide TV viewers across China with incredible access to RUFF’s world-class athletes.

RUFF is the first government-sanctioned professional MMA organization in China, partnering with the Wushu Administrative Center of the General Administration of Sport of China to promote MMA on the Chinese mainland.
