Lavar Johnson drops out of UFC on FOX 5 bout with Brendan Schaub due to groin injury (Update)

The featured FX bout between Brendan Schaub and Lavar Johnson has been scratched for now, as Johnson has pulled out of the fight due to a pulled groin.

UFC President Dana White tweeted out the injury late Thursday evening.

Lavar Johnson is out of the FOX prelims with a pulled groin. He was fighting Brendan Schaub.

**Update**
Brendan Schaub will not be competing on the UFC on FOX 5 fight card. Schaub’s manager Lex McMahon confirmed the news.

UFC on FOX 5 is set to go down on December 8 from the Key Arena in Seattle, Washington. The main event is a lightweight championship fight between champ Benson Henderson and Nate Diaz. Also on the card is veteran Mauricio “Shogun” Rua who will take on the up and comer Alexander Gustafsson. Another legendary battle will go down on the main card, as B.J. Penn looks to shut down the youngster Rory MacDonald. Rounding out the FOX card is a welterweight battle between two heavy handed fighters, as Mike Swick takes on Matt Brown.
