Rory MacDonald rematch with Carlos Condit slated for UFC 158 in Montreal

|

Following Rory MacDonald’s victory over B.J. Penn at UFC on FOX 5 in Seattle this past weekend, his one request was to get a rematch with Carlos Condit.

Condit agreed on last night’s episode of ‘UFC Tonight’ on FUEL TV with two words, “I’m in.” Obviously UFC President Dana White was one for the fight as well, as he confirmed that the bout will in fact go down.

The bout is being targeted for MacDonald’s home base of Montreal, Quebec on March 16 at the Bell Centre.

MacDonald and Condit first met at UFC 115 in MacDonald’s home province of British Columbia. The man who goes by “Ares” was beating Condit for the first two and a half rounds of the fight, until “The Natural Born Killer” pulled off a TKO with just seconds left in the third round.

At the UFC on FOX 5 post-fight press conference, MacDonald said he was “humiliated” by his past performance against Condit.

“I was just laying there getting beaten on, my face looked like I was the guy from ‘The Goonies’ after. I was embarrassed, I was embarrassed about my performance and how I held myself. It did a lot of damage and I don’t think I’ve been the same person since, so I want to get that back.”

MMAJunkie.com was first to report the MacDonald vs. Condit rematch and MMASucka later confirmed it.
