Jordan Mein makes UFC debut against Dan Miller at UFC 158 in Montreal

|

Yet another Strikeforce fighter is making the jump to the UFC. This time welterweight prospect Jordan Mein will make the move to take on veteran Dan Miller.

UFC Officials announced the match-up late Friday evening.

Mein (26-8) comes into the UFC on an amazing 8-1 run in his last nine fights. He’s picked up significant wins over Josh Burkman, Marius Žaromskis and Evangelista Santos. Most recently the Canadian stand-out took a fight for The Score Fighting Series and dominantly defeated Forrest Petz early in the first round.

Miller (14-6, 1 NC) made his return to the Octagon after nearly a year layoff and defeated Ricardo Funch by guillotine choke at UFC on FX 4. He was expected to take on Sean Pierson at UFC 152 in September, however was forced to pull out after getting news about his son’s kidney transplant operation.

It is yet to be determined where on the UFC 158 fight card the Mein vs. Miller bout will take place.

UFC 158 goes down on March 16 from the Bell Center in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Headlining the event will be Georges St-Pierre putting his welterweight title on the line against Nick Diaz. A pair of welterweight battles will lead up to the main event, as Rory MacDonald looks to avenge his UFC 115 loss to Carlos Condit and Johny Hendricks will hope to keep his win streak alive against Jake Ellenberger.
