Former UFC fighter Matt Riddle signs with Legacy Fighting Championship

|

It was a surprising situation when the UFC cut Matt Riddle after being on a four-fight winning streak. His pink slip came after failing his post-fight drug test following his unanimous decision victory over the always dangerous Che Mills at UFC on FUEL TV 7. The failed test was his second, both of which for marijuana.

Riddle didn’t seem too phased by the release and has since found a new home. “Deep Waters” announced via his official Twitter account that he has signed with Legacy Fighting Championship.

There has been no announcement for when he will be debuting with the organization or who his first opponent will be. He made it clear on this past weeks MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani that he doesn’t mind fighting a few cans, but don’t expect any of those in Legacy Fighting.

Legacy Fighting Championship 19 takes place on April 12 at the Allen Event Center in Allen, TX and features a flyweight title fight between champion Will Campuzano against undefeated Brazilian Alan Nascimento. Also on the card is BJJ ace Robert Drysdale who will face off against DJ Linderman.
