UFC 158: St-Pierre vs. Diaz Bottom Line

With UFC 158 upon us this weekend there are some interesting stats that you should have a look at.

If you are thinking about placing a bet on this weekends UFC 158 fight card the odds are great and if you are not into betting on MMA, but want to take in some horse racing action make sure you bet on Kentucky derby which goes down on May 4.

Georges St-Pierre vs. Nick Diaz

– St-Pierre has an outstanding takedown game as everyone knows, but to point out just how good it is, his accuracy is 78%, while his defense is 86%

– Boxing has always been Diaz’s strongpoint and a 6.03 strikes landed per minute proves that

Johny Hendricks vs. Carlos Condit

– Condit holds an advantage in height and reach, but his biggest advantage is his takedown accuracy which sits at 58%, however Hendricks is known for his wrestling and his takedown D is a pretty decent 63%

– Hendricks’ striking could be the key to this match and his accuracy is 51%

Nate Marquardt vs. Jake Ellenberger

– Ellenberger is known for fighting in wars, but he isn’t one to take much damage, as his striking defense sits at 70%

– Marquardt has a great takedown game with his accuracy coming in at 59%, however Ellenberger boasts one of the best takedown defenses in the UFC at 93%

Chris Camozzi vs. Nick Ring

– A very even match-up with both fighters striking accuracy being 44% and their striking defense is close at 59% and 60%

– The one place Ring has a slight advantage is in takedowns, as his accuracy is 33%, while Camozzi is sitting at 0%

Colin Fletcher vs. Mike Ricci

– Both fighters have only fought once inside the UFC’s Octagon so their FightMetric numbers do not prove much.

– Ricci had a 60% striking accuracy in his first match, while Fletcher landed 3.73 strikes per minute
