XFC spotlight on Welterweight Main Event Fighter Shamar Bailey XFC 23 April 19th on AXStv

|

Indiana firefighter Shamar Bailey will be taking a break from the battle against the elements to take on Luis “Sapo” Santos (54-8-1) in the main event of the XFC 23: Louisville Slugfest event. Scheduled for April 19 at the Kentucky National Convention Center, Bailey (15-8) will be fighting for the first time since his December victory over Gideon Ray.

Bailey has been been fighting professionally since 2006, competing in some of the sport’s most prestigious promotions along the way. He began his career as a lightweight, but recently he has been competing in the welterweight division. Riding a two fight win streak, Bailey will now take on one of the most experienced and well-rounded welterweights in the business as the two compete under the XFC banner for the first time.

Fighting the Brazilian, Luis Santos, is going to require a solid game plan and a near perfect performance from Bailey. His strength is in his wrestling, and usually if he can get his opponent to the ground, it leads to long rounds of positioning and ground and pound. Against Santos however, Bailey will have to be extra cautious of submissions. He has only been defeated but submission on one occasion, but Santos’ black belt level jiu-jitsu will be something to keep an eye on if this fight goes to the mat.

On April 19, join thousands of XFC fans in Kentucky or tune into AXStv to see Shamar Bailey in the main event of XFC 23: Louisville Slugfest taking on Luis Santos. Bailey has a chance to earn a win over a very accomplished veteran, and prove that his career in MMA now belongs in the XFC Welterweight chase.
