A battle to see who would move up the ladder in the featherweight division was the co-main event, as Frankie Edgar took on Charles Oliveira.
Edgar landed a very nice punch early in the round and wound up on top. The two scrambled to their feet and Oliveira ended up jumping guard. Again the two scrambled to their feet. A late punch by Edgar made Oliveira slip and he finished the round in the guard position.
The speedy featherweight a throw feverishly to start the second as well. Midway through the round Edgar wound up on top and reigned down some punches. When the two got back to the feet they returned to the fast paced action. Edgar landed a big takedown with 10-seconds left to finish the round.
A fast paced third round saw both men land some great punches and kicks. Edgar wound up on top with just under a minute left and rode out the round in Oliveira’s guard.
