At UFC 163 a light heavyweight battle between Lyoto Machida and Phil Davis will serve as the co-main event.

Phil Davis plans on submitting Lyoto Machida and build his “legacy”

“What makes Lyoto Machida so unique is that he’s quite effective at catching people rushing in. Anyone who comes straight at him he usually punishes. I’m gonna stick to my bread and butter. My plan is go to Rio and get another submission win and be able to build my legacy that way. Machida was next in line for the title-shot and winning against him will put me up there in the contendership race.”

A submission over Machida will be tough to come by, as the Dragon has only been tapped out once in his twenty-two professional bouts.

UFC 163 takes place on August 3rd in Rio de Janiero, Brazil. The main event is a featherweight championship bout between Jose “Scarface” Aldo and “The Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung, Stay tuned to MMASucka for more on UFC 163, and other UFC cards!
