The winner of the TUF 17 is now without a dance partner, as an injury to the knee of Thiago has forced the Brazilian to bow out of their scheduled bout at UFC Fight Night 27.

Paulo Thiago injured, Kelvin Gastelum needs new opponent for UFC Fight Night 27

Kelvin Gastelum (6-0) was the dark horse of The Ultimate Fighter’s 17th season, beating the odds all through his run, ultimately defeating the hands-down favorite, knockout machine Uriah Hall, by split decision at the finale. A wrestler with immeasurable heart and immense drive to improve, the raw Gastelum is returning to his natural weight class of 170 lbs., and looking to prove that his winning streak is no fluke. Will he get a new opponent in time to show the world at UFC Fight Night 27?

UFC Fight Night 27 goes down August 28th, 2013 at the Bankers’ Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, IN. The main event is a rematch in the welterweight division, pitting “The Natural Born Killer” Carlos Condit against the only man to defeat him in non-title competition in the UFC, Martin “The Hitman” Kampmann.
