TUF 19 tryouts to be hosted ahead of UFC Fight Night 27, open to middleweights and light heavyweights

The Ultimate Fighter, The Ultimate Fighting Championship’s long-running reality series, which launched the careers of more than 100 UFC fighters and produced champions such as Forrest Griffin, Rashad Evans and Matt Serra and season winners including Michael Bisping, Ryan Bader and Nate Diaz, will be holding tryouts for its 19th season in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Middleweight (185lbs) and light heavyweight (205lbs) fighters are invited to attend the season 19 casting on Tuesday, August 27, ahead of Wednesday night’s UFC FIGHT NIGHT: CONDIT vs. KAMPMANN 2, also in Indiana.

Middleweights were most recently featured on season 17, The Ultimate Fighter: Team Jones vs. Team Sonnen, where Kelvin Gastellum emerged the winner; while light heavyweights were last featured on season 8, The Ultimate Fighter: Team Nogueira vs. Team Mir, with the victory captured by Ryan Bader.

This September, the series moves to its new home on FOX Sports 1 with the two-hour season premiere of The Ultimate Fighter: Team Rousey vs. Team Tate, featuring UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey and fierce rival Miesha Tate, set to airWednesday, September 4 at 11 PM ET.

The Ultimate Fighter 19 candidates must be between 21 and 34 years old, be able to legally live and work in the United States, have a minimum of three professional Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fights, and hold a verifiable winning record. Registration begins at 7:00AM

Tryouts begin at 9:00 AM.

Fighters will be required to grapple & hit pads. Please bring appropriate gear.

Applicants will be notified at the end of the tryouts if they have been selected to advance in the selection process. Successful candidates will be required to be present at final casting in Las Vegas on September 2, 2013.
