The news was swirling around the interweb early in the week, but was confirmed on the UFC Fight Night 27 pre-fight show.

Evans (18-3-1) was riding his first two-fight losing streak until he got back on track with a split decision victory over Dan Henderson at UFC 161 in June. Prior to that he lost to Jon Jones (UFC 145) and Antonio Rogerio Nogueira (UFC 156).

Sonnen (29-13-1) was also riding a two-fight losing streak before snapping it with a big submission victory over Mauricio “Shogun” Rua at UFC Fight Night 26. His back-to-back losses however were in title fights to light heavyweight champ Jon Jones (UFC 159) and Anderson Silva (UFC 148).

UFC 167 is set to go down on November 16 from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The UFC welterweight championship is on the line in the main event as Georges St-Pierre looks to defend his belt against number one contender Johny Hendricks.
