Frank Camacho vs Seung Hwan Bang postponed to PXC 41

|

Frank Camacho vs Seung Hwan Bang was originally slated for Guam’s PXC 40, which goes down later this month. However, because of Visa issues on the part of South Korea’s Bang, officials were forced to push forward the Lightweight tilt to the forthcoming PXC 41 event, which takes place November 9 at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City, Philippines.

MMAOrient first brought word of the change-up.

Frank Camacho vs Seung Hwan Bang postponed to PXC 41

Headlined by a Flyweight title clash between champ Ale Cali and unbeaten prospect Louis Smolka, PXC 41 will also see the return of former 135-lbs champ Crisanto Pitpitunge, as he battles Russell Doane after a six month hiatus.

Camacho-Bang, meanwhile, is expected to be a part of the main card, which will stream LIVE on http://new.livestream.com/accounts/1594039/events/2473023.

“Camacho and Bang is a big lightweight fight with championship implications and that’s why we just didn’t cancel the fight, ” PXC President Joey Calvo explained.  “We wanted the fight to happen in Guam but it is just too big of a fight to cancel and schedule another fighter for Frank.”

A former “TUF 16” try-out, Camacho (11-2), a Llloyd Irvin protege, has amassed a 11-2 record since going pro in 2005, competing for promotions like URCC and the PXC in his career thus far. On a two fight winning skid, the 24-year-old American was last featured at PXC 38, where he grabbed a KO victory over Koshi Matsumoto.

Korean Top Team’s Bang (16-7), meanwhile, is a staple of Japan’s DEEP. Having fought the likes of Jorge Masvidal and Takanori Gomi, the South Korean will be hoping to use that experience as an added advantage when he makes his promotional debut next month. His most recent victory came at Top FC’s inaugural event in June, via TKO.

Since PXC 41 will be the final card of the calendar year, PXC plans to put on another entertaining event, with the likes of Mark Striegl and former UFC vet Shane Nelson rumored for November 9.

Check out the updated line-up below:

  • Ale Cali vs. Louis Smolka (For PXC Flyweight title)
  • Crisanto Pitpitunge vs. Russell Doane
