Featherweight title match-up heads BRACE 24 in Canberra, Australia

|

BRACE hosts its 24th installment on November 29 later this month at the AIS Stadium in Australia’s capital city of Canberra. While bouts are yet to be announced for the fight card, the headlining contest is set to feature a Featherweight title match-up, pitting reigning champ Luke Standing (4-0) against challenger, Martin Nguyen (2-0).

As with previous events, fans can catch all the action LIVE on an online PPV, for a price of AUD $14.99 at http://www.epicentre.tv.

Luke Standing has racked four straight victories to start his pro MMA career, and has finished two of his three bouts under the BRACE banner thus far. The New South Wales native remains as one of Australia’s top prospects, as evident in his trio of appearances in his stint with BRACE. He garnered the promotion’s 145-lbs title strap at BRACE 18 submitting Richard Kemp-Hay in the second frame, and now returns to Canberra for his first title defense.

On that night, at BRACE 18, when Standing was crowned as BRACE’s new Featherweight champ, a man named Mark Nguyen made his pro MMA debut. And it was a successful one as he stopped Thomas Ruderman via TKO in the second stanza. He further impressed in June’s BRACE 21, salvaging a narrow Majority Decision victory over Jamie Mullarkey. That triumph eventually earned him a shot at the title, and at 24, the sky certainly looks to be the limit for the Australian.
