At UFC 169 on February 1, two heavyweights that are riding losing streaks will be potentially fighting for their careers — against each other.

Are Frank Mir and Alistair Overeem fighting for their careers?

Frank Mir and Alistair Overeem will go to battle on the pay-per-view portion of the fight card and many expect this one to finish early.

Mir (16-8) is a two time heavyweight champion, however he is currently on a three-fight losing skid. It all began with a big TKO loss to Junior dos Santos at UFC 146 for the heavyweight title. He followed with losses to Daniel Cormier and Josh Barnett.

Overeem (36-13 1NC) made his UFC debut at UFC 141, where he finished Brock Lesnar with a liver kick. In his sophomore bout, which happened over one year later, The Reem lost to Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva by knockout. He then went up against Travis Browne and though he was looking crisp early, “Hapa” was able to finish Overeem with front kick.

If you are looking to place a bet on this fight at an online casino, then your odds are as good as at the roulette tables. Overeem is the slight favorite coming in at -300, with Mir being the +250 underdog. With lines as close as those, you are basically rolling the dice.

There aren’t many fighters that last in the UFC after three-fight losing streaks and in Mir’s case it could be four. Time will only tell, as to which fighter will prevail. After all is done and settled at UFC 169, one of these nasty heavyweights could be handed their walking papers.

UFC 169 goes down on February 1, 2014 at the Prudential Center at Newark, N.J. The main event will feature a bantamweight title fight between Renan Barao and Urijah Faber. Also on the card, the featherweight title is up for grabs, as Jose Aldo takes on Ricardo Lamas.
