Dos Santos (16-3) is coming off a TKO loss against Cain Velasquez for the UFC heavyweight championship at UFC 166 this past October. Prior to that loss, he knocked out Mark Hunt with a well timed spinning back kick.

Miocic (11-1) has won two in a row, with his most recent victory a unanimous decision against Gabriel Gonzaga at UFC on FOX 10. The Croatian began his professional MMA career on a nine-fight winning streak, with three of those victories coming inside the Octagon.

According to the Las Vegas Review, the bout between Dos Santos and Miocic will serve as the UFC 173 co-main event.

UFC 173 goes down May 24th at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, NV. The main event is a middleweight title bout pitting champion Chris Weidman against former light heavyweight champ Lyoto Machida. Stay tuned to MMASucka for more on this and other upcoming events.
