The second installment of ROAD FC’s recently launched ‘ROAD FC – Korea’ series will take place at the Grand Hilton Convention Centre in Seoul, South Korea on March 9th. This will be the promotion’s third event of the calendar year.

The ‘ROAD FC – Korea’ series, of course, was launched late last year for the sole purpose of serving as a launching point for foreign fighters to get into ROAD FC.

As with previous events, ROAD FC – Korea 002 will be streamed LIVE online for a price of USD$9.99 on the USTREAM platform.

With a ‘ROAD FC vs. PANCRASE’ theme in check, representatives from Japan’s historic 20-year old Mixed Martial Arts promotion, PANCRASE, will be making the trip to South Korea this weekend to battle ROAD FC fighters in thrilling match-ups. The headlining bout of this cross-cultural exchange will see Kosuke Terashima (9-3-3) taking on Lee Yoon-Jun (5-2) at 135-lbs, with Ben Buchan (4-2) meeting Lee Hyung-Seok (8-6) at Lightweight in the co-main event.

Officials recently relayed the info and match-ups to MMASucka.com.

After facing and defeating Japanese names such as Otsuka Takafumi and Kamaya Makoto in 2013, Lee became an instant South Korean hit. The ROAD FC vet is slowly becoming one of the most respected fighters in the promotion’s Bantamweight and Featherweight divisions. Terashima, meanwhile, has been a mainstay in PANCRASE since 2011. A talented grappler, the Japanese fighter showcased his stand-up skills in his previous outing, gaining a slick TKO victory over Ryuya Suzuki at a PANCRASE Bayside Fight event late last year.

Seok is a young but seasoned MMA fighter who put on an impressive performance at ROAD FC 014, showcasing his ever-improving MMA facet. Buchan, on the other hand, has already faced stiff competition in his short MMA career. This fight, though, will mark his debut on foreign soil.

Elsewhere on the card, in a match-up of rising starlets, Bantamweight Han Yi-Moon (5-2) will welcome PANCRASE fighter Ryo Takagi (2-4) to the ROAD FC banner. At only 20-years-old, Han has already made some huge waves in the regional scene, representing the new wave of strong South Korean fighters coming out of the ROAD FC ranks. Han’s skills will be tested against Takagi, who at 22-years old, is yet to taste a defeat by stoppage.

In the only women’s match-up of the night, Kim Ji-Yeon (0-0-1) takes on Takayo Hashi (14-4) at a Catchweight bout of 58kg/128-lbs. Kim most recently made her pro MMA debut in Japan at DEEP: Cage Impact 2013, and took top fighter “Sugi Rock” Sugiyama to a Draw. When she faces Hashi next, it will be youth versus experience all over again, as she faces her second Japanese foe in a row. Hashi was the final Middleweight Champion of Japan’s all-female Smackgirl promotion. She has competed internationally against the toughest opponents in her division for several titles, including Strikeforce. It’s worth noting that the rare female bouts at ROAD FC always turn out to be extraordinary.

Along with five prelims, Brian Choi (3-3) vs. Heo Yoon (7-8-1) at Featherweight makes up the rest of the fight card.

ROAD FC staple Jung Hwan Cha was scheduled to fight Kenta Takagi. The former, however, sustained a hand injury in training and was forced to withdraw from proceedings.
