ONE FC continues recruiting spree, announces five new signings

|

ONE FC continues to bolster it fight roster with the addition of five new signings.

Just weeks ago, the promotion announced the coup of half a dozen international prospects. Now, Chi Lewis Parry (5-0), Ji Xian (11-2), Igor Subora (5-1), Cary Bullos (7-1) and Yohan Legowo (7-2) have all linked up with the ONE FC ranks as well.

Promotional debuts for the fighters were not announced, but the recruiting spree could serve the company well as it continues to strengthen its roster of fighters with an estimated twelve events targeted for later on in the calendar year.

Officials confirmed the signings with MMASucka.com on Monday morning.

Chi Lewis Parry, from the United Kingdom, is a perfect 5-0 who stands nearly two meters tall. Prior to taking up the sport of Mixed Martial Arts, the Brit played professional Basketball in the British Basketball league. With his lengthy figure, he’s expected to boast the longest reach in ONE FC’s Heavyweight division. He has never seen a third round in all his pro MMA outings.

Ji Xian, a Chinese Bantamweight, is a former champion in the now defunct Legend FC promotion. All eleven of his victories have come via submission, and he now looks to test himself against the likes of Masakatsu Ueda, Dae Hwan Kim, Kevin Belingon, Soo Chul Kim and Bibiano Fernandes among others in a truly stacked 135-lbs division under the ONE FC flag.

Former URCC Heavyweight champ Igor Subora, from Ukraine, is a Sambo specialist riding high on a five-fight win streak. He’s yet to make it past the first stanza in all of his bouts.

Current URCC Featherweight champ Cary Bullos is a highly regarded MMA fighter out of the Philippines with a background in Judo and Muay Thai. He began his professional mixed martial arts career in 2006 and since then, has amassed a 7-1 record with all of his wins coming by finishes.

Indonesia’s Yohan Legowo nearly stopped competing in MMA after a career stall in 2007, where a broken arm hampered his chances of competing. But after taking time to heal and recuperate, he returned to pro MMA competition in 2010. He has earned accolades in Kickboxing, Sanda, and Submission Grappling, and should the former TPIFC vet make his ONE FC debut later this year, it would be his third fight in the space of ten years.

ONE FC’s next event, titled ‘Rise of Heroes’, takes place at the 20,000-capacity Mall of Asia Arena on May 2, and will feature a Bantamweight World Championship title bout between reigning and defending world champion Bibiano “The Flash” Fernandes and Japanese contender and ONE FC Bantamweight Grand Prix winner Masakatsu Ueda.
