Bobby Green ready to take time to cry for brother

Bobby Green

UFC lightweight Bobby Green took the UFC on FOX 12 main card fight against Josh Thomson on just 12-days notice. Just two-months prior his brother, Mitchell Davis Jr.was shot and killed.

“The only reason I took the fight is to give my brother that honor, to put him on the front stage and say he was a good kid,” said Green at the UFC on FOX 12 post-fight press conference. “He was a great guy. He was my closest soldier to me – my little, my baby brother. When I go home, he was the first person I was going to see. It’s been very hard to deal with it and deal with that pain. I haven’t had time to really sit back and think about it.”

After a very close split-decision victory against Thomson, Green will likely get another top contender in his next outing. However at this point, he is just focused on mourning the loss of his brother and really take some time for himself.

“I’m going to go visit his grave and really express my hurt,” Green stated. “I’ve been so busy and so occupied – because I only took the fight on 12-days’ notice – that you don’t have time to do all these different things. So I’m just ready now. I’m going to take my time to really cry for my brother. I didn’t really get the time to share that.”
