PFC’s Rock “N” Rumble event will feature the debut of two 180-pound warriors, as The Kompound’s Lou Papedo takes on Trials MMA’s Kyle Renton.

Papedo and Renton square off in debuts at PFC’s RNR Event

Both men have had combat sports as a part of their lives for a very long time.

“I wrestled as a young kid all the way through high school and did well,” Renton said. “I’ve always liked one on one sports, there’s no hiding spots.”

Papedo, has never hidden from anything and has been fighting his whole life.

“I have been a fighter my whole life. I received my first black belt as a teenager and dove head first when I discovered MMA,” Papedo said. “At this point in my life, it’s more of a fight and challenge with myself.”

The challenge in this fight for both men may come less from a debut and more from the unique pressure that comes from a larger crowd attracted by the fights and the P.O.D. concert. But if there are nerves to be had, neither man seems too concerned.

“I think the venue and concert for the fight is amazing,” Papedo said. “It’s a new breed sport, with new breed fans. So it should have high energy.”

“As far as nerves, I am not too nervous yet,” Renton said. “Hats off to the PFC crew for putting together events like this. It’s going to be a blast! What’s better than a rock concert and being able to watch?”

What would be best for either man is a big win. While they know they’ll be matched up against the noise from the arena they have to remained focused on the opponent across from them.

“I don’t really know my opponent,” Papedo stated. “With that said, I do have the utmost respect for him. Anyone who steps in the cage is there for a reason and his ability should be respected.”

Renton echoes the sentiment, “Not sure about him, we are just going to work our game plan and let it show for itself.”

Renton’s calm may come in part from being on the same MMA team as UFC veteran Ed Herman — a man who has seen plenty of bright lights and big stages.

“I train over at Trails MMA in Fort Collins and the room is full of monsters so we practice hard to make the fights easy,” Renton said.

But will this fight be easy for Renton or can Papedo grab the debut victory?

“My fans know me, I fight fast, hard and fearless. It’s just in my blood, all or nothing. People will leave this fight with one thought, ‘Today was a good day’,” Papedo said.

Renton promises he’s leaving with more than a positive thought.

“It’s going to be a great time and I am going to walk out with the win,” Renton promised.

There will only be one place you can see the debut fights of Kyle Renton and Lou Papedo as well as the rest of the stacked R“N”R card with a P.O.D. concert, and that’s at the National Western Complex on November 21.
