Two more matchups have been added to the upcoming Boston event, as ranked lightweight Jorge Masvidal takes on Norman Parke, and ranked middleweight Costas Phillipou takes on Uriah Hall early next year.

Masvidal vs Parke & Phillipou vs. Hall added to UFC Fight Night 59 in Boston

UFC announced the two matchups on Wednesday evening.

Masvidal (28-8) is currently riding a three-fight win streak, and has won eight of his last 10 bouts.  Earlier this summer, he defeated Daron Cruickshank by decision and then two months later at UFC 178 he took on James Krause and also defeated him by decision.  Masvidal last lost just under a year ago, to Rustam Khabilov.

Parke (20-2-1) would be riding an 11-fight win streak if it wasn’t for a draw against Leonardo Santos earlier this year.  He most recently finished Naoyuki Kotani this past July, and was set to face Diego Sanchez at UFC 180 but was forced to withdraw due to injury.  He will be looking to crack into the Top 15 potentially with a win over Masvidal.

Phillipou (13-4) started 2014 off not the way he wanted, as he was knocked out early by Luke Rockhold in January.  He rebounded successfully when he knocked Lorenz Larkin out in May.  He will be looking to hold his position in the top 15 and extend his winning streak to two with a win over Hall.  He actually defeated Hall by decision back in 2011, in Ring of Combat.

Hall (9-4) is on a two-fight win streak with wins over Chris Leben and Thiago Santos.  He has only fought once in 2014, where he defeated Santos at UFC 175 by decision.

Both of these fights are likely to be part of the main card, but nothing is official.

UFC Fight Night 59 takes place at the TD Garden in Boston on Jan. 18, 2015.  It is headlined by Conor McGregor vs. Dennis Siver and co-headlined by Benson Henderson vs. Eddie Alvarez.  Other than these four fights, no others have been announced.  The event is expected to air live and free on FOX Sports 1.
