Just days after Donald Cerrone defeated Myles Jury by unanimous decision at UFC 182, he now has his next fight lined up. A last minute replacement fight against Benson Henderson at UFC Fight Night 59.

UFC President Dana White announced via his official Instagram account that Eddie Alvarez was out due to injury and Cerrone was in.

Cerrone (26-6, 1NC) is riding a six-fight winning streak, dating back to November 2013. In four of those six outings, Cerrone won a $50,000 ‘of the Night’ bonus.

Henderson (21-4) went on a two-fight win streak after losing the lightweight belt to Anthony Pettis just over a year ago, as he defeated Josh Thompson and Rustam Khabilov in the first half of 2014. Raphael dos Anjos pulled off a major upset in August in the main event, knocking Henderson out in the first round. Henderson looks to get back on track, moving towards that #1 spot he sat at, till he was beat a couple months ago.

This will be the third time Cerrone faces off against Henderson. However, the two have come a long ways in their careers since those outings. Both those fights took place in the now defunct WEC organization — WEC 47 (Oct. 2009) and WEC 48 (Apr. 2010). On both occasions, Cerrone lost.

Henderson vs. Alvarez is set as the co-main event of the evening.

UFC Fight Night 59 takes place at the TD Garden in Boston on Jan. 18, 2015. The event is headlined by Conor McGregor vs. Dennis Siver, and is expected to air live and free on FOX Sports 1 with prelims on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.
