UFC on FOX 16 gets yet another fun fight as one of the UFC’s bonus kings in Joe Lauzon draws Pride FC legend Takanori Gomi.

The lightweight contest was announced on America’s Pregame on FOX Sports 1.

Lauzon (24-10) is a 13-time post-fight bonus winner coming off a TKO loss to streaking lightweight Al Iaquinta. Prior to this loss, he had won two in a row, including a unanimous decision victory over Mac Danzig and a doctor stoppage win over Michael Chiesa in a fight of the night winner. The Danzig win was the first time Lauzon has won by decision in his 11+ year career.

Gomi (35-10, 1NC) is the former Pride FC lightweight champion who was, at one point, considered the best lightweight in the world for multiple years. Since joining the UFC in 2010 he has gone 4-5 including a knockout of the night performance over Tyson Griffin and two fight of the night victories against Vallie-Flagg and Danzig.

The bouts placement on the card is unknown at this time.

UFC on FOX 16 will take place at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois and will be headlined by a bantamweight title rematch between TJ Dillashaw and Renan Barao. The co-main event will feature former lightweight champion Anthony Pettis taking on Myles Jury.
