Dejan Kajic steps in against David Perron at BFL 37

|

An injury has forced Fort St. John’s Duncan Wilson off the BFL 37 fight card, so former BFL welterweight title challenger Dejan Kajic takes his place on the main card against David Perron.

Kajic (6-4) was en route to capturing the BFL welterweight belt, however Ash Mashreghi had different plans. Kajic battered “Smash” for two and a half rounds, but an odd scramble worked out for Mashreghi and he was able to lock in a deep rear naked choke. Kajic holds a 2-1-1 record inside the BFL cage.

Perron (7-4) started off his career on a four-fight winning streak. Since then he has bounced back and fourth with wins and losses over his last seven fights. Most recently, “Showtime” took on Ryan Janes at BFL 35 and despite getting the best of Janes in the first round and early part of the second round, Janes was able to take his back and secure the rear-naked choke.

The Perron vs. Kajic bout will take place on the evening’s main card.

BFL 37 takes place on July 25 from the Hard Rock Casino in Coquitlam, B.C. The main event is a battle for the 145-pound belt, as Jeremy Kennedy takes on Kyle Nelson and in the co-main event, middleweight champion Ryan Janes takes on promotional newcomer and Fivestar Fight League middleweight kingpin Brendan Kornberger.
