A pivotal light heavyweight match-up has been added to the UFC 192 fight card in Houston, as Ryan Bader welcomes Rashad Evans back to the Octagon.

After rumors swirling last week, UFC President Dana White confirmed the fight on Wednesday’s edition of UFC Tonight on FOX Sports 1.

Evans (19-3-1) has been out of action since November 2013, after tearing his ACL in early 2014. Despite being out for over a year and a half, the former light heavyweight champion is riding a two-fight winning streak with victories over Dan Henderson and Chael Sonnen.

Bader (19-4) was vying for a shot at the 205-pound champ Daniel Cormier, but was passed up by Alexander Gustafsson. The TUF 8 winner has won four in a row, with victories over Anthony Perosh, Rafael Cavalcante, Ovince Saint Preux and most recently Phil Davis.

UFC 192 goes down on October 3 from the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas. No other bouts have been announced for the fight card, so keep it locked to MMASucka.com for more on UFC 192 as it arises.
