“Be passionate. Be optimistic. Be grateful.” – Conor McGregor

Grateful is what I am. This review has been a long time coming — not just long, it’s damn overdue. Brett Cooper who owns and operates BC Kimonos was nice enough to ship me one of their CompV3 White Gi’s to test out and give you guys my thoughts.

I’ve had the gi on a hanger for over a year. It stared at me and begged me to be worn, but injuries and other life situations kept me at bay from the mats. But three weeks ago I made the decision to start training at Apex Martial Arts and the BC Kimono was on my back.

Having been in the BJJ scene for almost a decade, a number of gi companies have been donned by yours truly. The BC Kimonos motto states that they want to, “provide well built premium Kimonos with clean designs at an affordable non-premium price.” This is nothing but the truth. The CompV3 gi felt like a premium product that wasn’t stiff or too heavy by any means. There is nothing flashy or overdone about the gi design — it is simple looking and very streamlined. Some products have very rigid lapels, well not this one, in fact it is very comfortable and flexible, but still thick.

Other gi’s on the market would easily sell for twice the price.

BC Kimonos has many great products, with a limited supply of CompV3’s still available for just $99. They are a 450GSM Pearl weave top, with 10 OZ Drill Poly/Cotton Pants.

After rolling around for a few weeks, it is safe to say that this is my favorite gi I own and will be purchasing a few more in different colors.

Appearance – 9/10

Durability – 9/10 (Only reason this didn’t get a 10/10 is because I’ve only been rolling in it for 3 weeks)

Comfort – 10/10

Price – 10/10

Overall – 10/10
