UFC Matchmaking: Who Should Fight Who?

|

Let’s see what should UFC fans look forward to and who should fight who as we try to pair together some of the UFC winners and their potential challengers. Maybe you will be lucky enough and win tickets to 2015 events.

UFC Matchmaking: Who Should Fight Who?

MMA and UFC fighting is becoming so popular that soon we will most probably be seeing it in casino games as the main theme with stars like Daniel Cormier, Brock Lesnar, Wanderlei Silva and others. Some NetEnt games are already themed around WWE wrestling, so why not MMA and UFC as a next theme (click for more information on NetEnt and other game providers).

First on our list is Max Holloway, the man that didn’t have the chance to display his abilities to the fullest due to Oliveira’s injury. He is an excellent fighter and has the experience of a veteran, although he is just 23 and has only 13 UFC fights behind him. Despite all, he has the confidence of a great fighter and fearless attitude, and is currently on a winning streak of seven UFC wins.

By our opinion he should be paired up with Frankie Edgar, because Edgar is the highest available opponent. After beating Oliveira, Holloway called for the matchup with Edgar knowing it is the next logical step. Holloway can take advantage of going against Edgar to test his skills against a former UFC titleholder, and even if he loses he will get a clear a picture of where he stands compared to the elite. Edgar’s MMA and UFC scores are 19-4-1 and 13-4-1.

Another interesting pair would be Neil Magny vs. Rick Story. Magny has earned the right to go against a fighter of a high tier, and has triumphed 8 times in the last 9 appearances. Magny stepped in for Story in the fight against Silva due to Story’s injury, so it is only sensible for those two to meet. The fight will surely be an aggressive one on Story’s side, but patient and calculated on Magny’s side.

Let’s go with the lady-fighters. Valerie Letourneau, the Canadian, brought the first defeat for the heavily hyped prospect Maryna Moroz and now she is 3-0. Although she was the underdog, she was far more a superior athlete and won with a unanimous decision. And considering she has stated that she has only a few more years ahead of her, she will probably make a run to the top as quickly as possible.

One of the next stops on that run is Juliana Lima. She is yet another successful 115-pound fighter that Letourneau would want to fight. Lima is 2-1 UFC and 8-2 MMA, and is something that Letourneau needs as her next foe.

Other interesting pars to think about are Patrick Cote and Hector Lombard, Olivier Aubin-Mercier and Scott Holtzman, and Francisco Trinaldo and Jim Miller. Cote has specifically called for Lombard as his next opponent because he knows that at 35 he has little time to join the title picture.
