The co-main event at Prestige FC has been set and it’s a doozy. Kurt “The Hurt” Southern will make the drop down to 145-pounds to take on the always exciting American Daniel Swain.

Southern was expected to take on Gabe Solorio, however he was forced to pull out, so Swain is stepping in on just under a month’s notice.

Swain (14-5-1) has been very active over the past couple of years and has fought for some big organizations along the way. Most recently he is coming off a third round submission victory over Drew Brokenshire at Super Fight League America this past weekend. The 24-year-old is riding a two-fight winning streak.

Southern (13-6) who has been on the Canadian MMA scene since 2007 is riding a two-fight losing skid — both against Tom Gallicchio, both under the MFC banner. The 32-year-old hasn’t stepped inside the cage since that last loss to Gallicchio in May 2014.

Prestige FC goes down on October 24 from the Crescent Point Place in Weyburn, Saskatchewan. The main event is a welterweight slugfest between Taki Uluilakepa and former UFC fighter Mike Rhodes.
