UFC 196 in February gets a big rematch in the form of Fabricio Werdum defending his heavyweight title against former champion Cain Velasquez.

UFC President, Dana White, broke the news to UFC Total.

Werdum (20-5-1) is coming off a dominant victory over Cain Velasquez in Mexico where he submitted him in the third round. Prior to this title shot he knocked out Mark Hunt, again in Mexico, to claim the interim UFC heavyweight title. Following a two-year stint in Strikeforce, beating names like Antonio Silva and Fedor Emelianenko, Werdum returned to the UFC in early-2012 and has not lost since, going 6-0.

Velasquez (13-2) had only fought two different names in roughly four years leading into the Werdum fight in June. After beating Brock Lesnar for the heavyweight title in October of 2010, Velasquez fought Junior Dos Santos three times and Antonio Silva twice. He lost the title to Dos Santos before ever defending it and earned another title shot by starching Antonio Silva. He then reclaimed the belt from JDS and defended it twice, against Junior dos Santos and Antonio Silva.

UFC 196 will take place in Las Vegas, Nevada on February 6. This will be the Super Bowl Weekend card. So expect it to be loaded with great fights.
