The UFC returns to Chicago for one of the most anticipated events of the year. In the main event, Robert Whittaker will take on Yoel Romero in a non-title fight. These two first met last year at UFC 213 when they battled for the interim middleweight title. Whittaker won that fight and was later promoted to undisputed champion after the title was vacated by Georges St-Pierre. “The Reaper” has not fought since then as he has been battling injuries. Meanwhile, Romero knocked out former champion, Luke Rockhold, at UFC 221 to earn another crack at the title. Unfortunately, Romero came in heavy yesterday by 0.2 pounds and the fight will not be for the title.

In the co-main event, Rafael dos Anjos will take on Colby Covington for the interim welterweight title. Dos Anjos has looked great since moving up to the welterweight division, going a perfect 3-0. His most recent win came at UFC on Fox 26 when he took on former champion, Robbie Lawler. He dominated the fight en route to an easy unanimous decision victory. Those other two wins at welterweight came against former Strikeforce champion, Tarec Saffiedine, and Neil Magny. His opponent, Colby Covington, has won five straight, his most recent win being the biggest. That win came against former welterweight and middleweight title challenger, Demian Maia. He won the fight easily by a unanimous decision. The two have gone back and forth since the fight was booked and they’ll settle it in the octagon.

Before the co-main event, former women’s bantamweight queen, Holly Holm, will take on the debuting, former Invicta champion, Megan Anderson. This fight will become the first fight in the women’s featherweight division that is not for a title. Also on the main card will be a heavyweight fight between a former champion and a rising prospect. Andrei Arlovski takes on Tai Tuivasa in what should be an exciting heavyweight matchup. Finally, kicking off the main card will be the return of CM Punk. He takes on Mike Jackson as they will both be looking for their first win.
