Melvin Guillard on Cerrone fight: “I’ve already won the fight ten different ways”

|

Coming off of a huge win Fabrício Camões at UFC 148, UFC lightweight Melvin Guillard is looking to push for that lightweight title shot. The man standing in his way to move up the rankings will be Donald Cerrone.

The two are set to battle it out in the co-main event at UFC 150 on August 11th in Denver, CO.

Guillard spoke with MMAMania.com about his upcoming fight and he definitely had some choice words for his opponent.

“Things could be entirely different at this stage in my life, if I hadn’t beaten Camoes at UFC 148, who knows where I would be right now. Instead, I’m co-headlining a UFC pay-per-view for Mr. Lorenzo and Mr. Dana and all the fans, and in a fight that I think will be the Fight of Night. There is no way that Cerrone can beat me, because for the first time ever, I will be fighting at my full potential. I can’t wait for Denver. I want the fight to be this weekend. I’m already in shape and in my mind, and in strategy sessions with my coaches, I’ve already won the fight ten different ways.”

Cerrone is a tough test in the lightweight division, but it seems Guillard is nothing but ready. He trains with some of the best in the world in Florida – with The Blackzilians. The fact that he is around such great training partners seems to have made his confidence fly through the roof. Whether this will help him prevail at UFC 150, time will only tell.
