Rampage Jackson requests Glover Teixeira fight and Dana White says ‘sounds good’

|

On Saturday night at UFC 153, Glover Teixeira absolutely obliterated his opponent Fabio Maldonado. So much so, that the doctor was forced to stop the fight following the second round. After the fight, Teixeira said he wants to face a top opponent next. It looks like his wish may be granted, as Quinton “Rampage” Jackson still wants to fight him.

Jackson was originally slated to face Teixeira at UFC 153, however was forced to withdraw from the fight due to injury. Immediately following Teixeira’s brutal victory, “Rampage” tweeted his request to UFC President Dana White.

Yo @danawhite set up that fight with Glover please! Lets give him what he wants..fans I won’t let u down

It didn’t take long for the Prez to respond to Rampage’s request.

@Rampage4real sounds good bro

Obviously, this is not official by any means, however with both parties agreeing we may see this match-up sooner rather than later.

With Glover taking very little damage in the fight against Maldonado, this match-up could appear near the end of 2012 or early 2013.

Rampage is on a two fight losing streak, with losses to Ryan Bader at UFC 144 and to UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones. While, Teixeira is currently riding a 17 fight winning streak. This match-up still makes a lot of sense, as Glover is looking for that big name opponent.
