Eduard Folayang vs. Lowens Tynanes to headline URCC 22: Dekada in Pasay

The Universal Reality Combat Championship, URCC for short, is the longest running MMA promotion in Asia today. A staple in for Filipino MMA for just about 10 years, the organization is set to showcase in what has been dubbed ‘its biggest event yet’.

Titled URCC 22: Dekada, the event is set to go down on December 1st at the Mall of Asia Arena situated in Pasay, Philippines. 4 title fights have been confirmed.

Eduard Folayang (11-2), a fan favorite and promotional veteran, is set to face Lowens Tynanes (1-0) in the featured ‘Super Fight Title’ attraction of the night. Folayang recently made it 1-1 in his stint with ONE Fighting Championship with a win over Felipe Enomoto at this past August’s ONE FC 5: Pride of a Nation. The Team Lakay native is unbeaten, to date, under the URCC banner and has amassed a total of 6 victories in the Filipino promotion.

Despite being relatively unknown, American-born Tynanes will be heading into enemy territory with all to gain and nothing to lose. Tynanes also boasts a 4-0 record in Amateur competition, and is the reigning Lightweight champion of the Hawaii-based Destiny MMA promotion.

In the co-Main event, reigning Featherweight champion Eric ‘The Natural’ Kelly (8-0) will be putting his strap on the line, against Phuket Top Team’s Brad Terrey (0-1). Kelly recently gained a TKO win over  former UFC Lightweight champion Jens Pulver in August, and has since become a hot commodity worldwide. One of the biggest names in Filipino MMA, ‘The Natural’ is one of the best fighters in the Asian region.

In other title bouts, Jessie Rafols (6-3) will be putting his Bantamweight Championship on the line against fellow promotional veteran, Keiff Mangusan (3-1). Froilan Sarenas (3-1), in the meantime, looks set to defend his Middleweight strap too against a yet-to-named opponent.

  1. Can it be any more obvious that the URCC is mis-matching fights to intentionally give filipino fighters an edge? This organization may be the longest running in asia…but with fight cards like this…the only running they will be doing is out of business!
