Rumor: Josh Koscheck vs. Robbie Lawler slated for UFC 157

|

A welterweight weight bout between two veterans has been slated for UFC 157. Josh Koscheck is expected to take on Robbie Lawler on the February 23 fight card.

UFC officials have yet to announce the match-up, @PunchyMcGee first reported it.

Koscheck (18-5) will fight for the first time since his split decision loss to Johny Hendricks back in May. He has gone 2-2 in his last four fights, with wins over Matt Hughes and Mike Pierce.

Lawler (19-9-1NC) is also coming off a loss; his to Lorenz Larkin under the Strikeforce banner back in July. He has gone 1-3 in his last four and will look to get his first win inside the octagon since 2003 when he beat Chris Lytle. Since Lawler’s release from the UFC in 2004, he has gone 11-6-1NC.

UFC 157 will go down on February 23 from The Honda Center in Anaheim, California and is expected to be headlined by Ronda Rousey vs. Liz Carmouche for the first ever UFC women’s title. Also on the card is “The California Kid” Urijah Faber who is set to take on Ivan Menjivar and a possible number one contender match-up in the light heavyweight division between Dan Henderson and Lyoto Machida.
