Urijah Faber vs. Scott Jorgensen booked as new main event at TUF 17 Finale

|

Following Tuesday night’s announcement that Demetrious Johnson was forced to withdraw from his TUF 17 main event fight against John Moraga, the UFC has found new headlining bout.

UFC President Dana White announced that Urijah Faber would face off against Scott Jorgensen, as the new main event at TUF 17.

Faber (27-6) is coming off a dominant performance at UFC 157, as he secured a first round rear naked choke against Ivan Menjivar. Prior to that he lost a unanimous decision to Renan Barao for the UFC 149 for the interim bantamweight championship. “The California Kid” is 6-0 in his last six non-title appearances.

Prior to his most recent victory, Faber told MMASucka.com that he is still gunning for the title.

Jorgensen (14-6) is also coming off a rear-naked choke victory this past December at UFC on FOX 5 against John Albert. That fight not only got “Young Guns” the “Submission of the Night” bonus, but also the “Fight of the Night”. Jorgensen snapped a two fight losing skid with his victory over Albert.

The TUF 17 Finale will go down on April 13 from  the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. Also featured on the card will be the middleweight tournament finals.
