“Jacare” Souza expresses interest in fighting Yushin Okami

|

MMAFighting.com is reporting that after hearing Dana White’s intentions to book his client against Yushin Okami (29-7) in a pre-UFC160 media scrum, Ronaldo Souza’s manager Gilberto Faria has told them he will be approaching the UFC’s head matchmaker Joe Silva about accepting the bout should it go forward. “It is up to them to make it happen now,” Faria was quoted as saying.

Faria told MMAFighting.com that he likes the idea, and would like the fight to take place in approximately four months from now, to allow “Jacare” a month off to rest before he jumps back into a grueling training camp.

Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza (18-3 1 N/C) made his UFC debut at UFC on FX 8, submitting Chris Camozzi in the first round. Souza is one of the world’s most accomplished BJJ practitioners, being one of the very few to hold a victory over fellow middleweight and multiple-time BJJ world champion Roger Gracie.
