Siyar Bahadurzada steps in to replace injured Tarec Saffiedine against Robbie Lawler at UFC on Fox 8.

“The Sponge” is out and “the Killer” is in against “Ruthless” Robbie at UFC on FX 8.

The UFC confirmed via twitter today that the Belgian welterweight Saffiedine is injured, and will be replaced in the July 27th bout with Robbie Lawler by Siyar Bahadurzada.

Siyar “the Killer” Bahadurzada (21-5-1) is one of the most feared strikers in the UFC’s welterweight division. He made an impressive debut in the big show by finishing Paulo Thiago in spectacular fashion, but was unable to capitalize on that momentum in a losing effort to dominant Korean judoka Dong Hyun Kim. Will he be able to right the ship against the durable Lawler?

“Ruthless” Robbie Lawler (20-9) had a cup of coffee in the UFC once before, washing out in 2004 and eventually finding his way to Elite XC, and then Strikeforce as a middleweight.  While he experienced a middling record there, he came over to the UFC after the merger with Strikeforce and reignited with scintiliating finish of Josh Koscheck. Will Lawler be able to deal with the diverse striking of Baharduzada to make it two in a row?

UFC on Fox 8 takes place on July 27th at the Key Arena in Seattle, WA. The card is scheduled to be headlined by a flyweight title bout between the champion Demetrious Johnson and challenger John Moraga. Stay tuned to MMASucka for more on UFC on Fox 8 and other upcoming cards!
