Chris Weidman dethrones Anderson Silva by 2nd round TKO

Weidman got an early takedown and was forced into Silva’s guard. “The All-American” moved into half guard and looked to throw down some punches. Weidman rolled to a nasty heel hook, but Silva made his way out of it. Silva with just over a minute left put his hands on his hips and said come on. Weidman didn’t play into Silva’s gameplan and finished the round out.

Silva started the round by toying yet again. While Silva was toying with him, Weidman landed a beautiful combo that dropped and finished Silva. The showboating didn’t work this time.
