Larceny charges against UFC fighter Reza Madadi approved, trial date set
Madadi has released a statement about his arrest and the charges, which we have, in translated form, for you here.
I didn’t do it for kicks or for money, the only thing that can explain this is that I am the world’s biggest idiot, and I don’t believe that I am. I was at the wrong place at the wrong time.
The trial of Reza Madadi is expected to start on Tuesday, August 6th, at the Stockholm District Court. The start of the trial had been delayed due to a backlog at the National Laboratory of Forensice Science (SKL), which prevented the evidence from being processed until now. If convicted, Madadi could be sentenced to up to 6 years in prison.
