Former WEC champion Miguel Torres arrested for possession

|

Some people just seem to be magnets for trouble, just like former WEC and UFC fighter Miguel Torres. Torres was reportedly arrested between the days of August 24th and 25th in his home state of Indiana for possession of marijuana. The former champ has since posted a $1500 bond and is out on bail.

MMA Junkie reported the news earlier today.

Former WEC champion Miguel Torres arrested for possession

Miguel Torres (40-6) was once one of the most dominant bantamweights in the game, capturing the WEC title from Chase Beebe in 2008 and defending it 3 times before losing it to Brian Bowles in August 2009. After the UFC absorbed his home promotion, Torres would 2-1 with the promotion before being cut due to making inappropriate jokes about rape. After being brought back after making amends, Torres was knocked out by Michael MacDonald before being cut again. The lanky bantamweight was last seen losing to Marlon Moraes by unanimous decision in the World Series of Fighting. No word yet on if and when he will compete again.
