UFC officials announced the match-up on Wednesday.
Matt Brown squares off against Carlos Condit at UFC on FOX 9
Three years ago Brown (18-11) was every so close to losing his job with the UFC after going on a 0-3 run. However in February of 2012 the man known as “Immortal” had a career rebirth and has since gone 6-0 in the stacked welterweight division. Brown has picked up big victories over Chris Cope, Stephen Thompson, Luis Ramos, Mike Swick, Jordan Mein and most recently knocking out Mike Pyle in just 29-seconds.
Condit (29-7) is coming off a huge technical knockout victory over Martin Kampmann at UFC Fight Night 27 in August. Prior to that win, “The Natural Born Killer” went on a two-fight losing streak to the 170-pound champ Georges St-Pierre and divisional contender Johny Hendricks.
UFC on FOX 9 is expected to go down from the Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento, Calif. It will be headlined by Anthony Pettis looking to defend his strap for the first time against Josh Thomson. Also announced for the fight card.
