World Series of Fighting signs Freddy Assuncao

The World Series of Fighting continues to fill out its ranks with the announcement earlier tonight that they have signed 29-year-old featherweight Freddy Assuncao. They also announced that he will be making his promotional debut on their January 18th card.

World Series of Fighting signs Freddy Assuncao

Freddy Assuncao (7-1) had been gathering steam on the regional circuit through 2012, but has been inactive for all of this year. Currently on a 6 fight winning streak, the Ascension MMA product was last seen getting a win over Andrew Carillo in Tachi Palace Fights, due to a doctor’s stoppage caused by a shoulder dislocation. Will 2014 be the year he resumes his climb towards the top?

No opponent has been announced as of yet for Assuncao, but he will be debuting at WSOF 8 on January 18th, at the Seminole Hard Rock Casino in Holywood, FL. The main event is a lightweight title bout between rising star Justin Gaethje and ground specialist Lewis Gonzalez. Stay tuned to MMASucka for more on this and other upcoming events.
