BRACE Featherweight champ Martin Nguyen pens six-fight deal with ONE FC

|

Martin Nguyen has another Mixed Martial Arts promotion to ply his trade in, as the reigning BRACE Featherweight champ recently secured a new, six-fight deal with Singapore-based ONE Fighting Championship.

The announcement was made following Nguyen’s 145-lbs main event title triumph over Luke Standing at BRACE 24, where CEO Kya Pate decided to surprise and reward the 24-year-old a contract with ONE FC.

BRACE, of course, is part of the “ONE FC Network” – a chain of gyms, promotions and sponsors that ONE Fighting Championship has collaborated with in conjunction with the growth of Asian MMA across the region.

But Nguyen’s new obligations with ONE FC will not prevent him from competing in BRACE. He will be entitled to compete on both fronts, so rest assured, fans can look forward to title defenses from the 24-year-old.

One of Australia’s hottest commodities in the 145-lbs division, Nguyen’s strength lies in the ground-and-pound department. He does possess an all-round Mixed Martial Arts facet too and that’s sure to set the ONE FC banner ablaze.

While his first ONE FC fight is yet to be announced, he is expected to make his promotional debut in 2014. ONE FC did, however, officially disclose the signings of South Korea’s Dae Hwan Kim (8-0), Australia’s Chris Lokteff (11-1), Strikeforce veteran Harris Sarmiento (36-25) and Bellator vet Aung La Nsang (14-9).
