The fights just keep coming for the UFC’s trip to Orlando. Welterweight’s Jordan Mein and Santiago Ponzinibbio will face-off inside the Octagon in April.

UFC officials announced the match-up on Thursday evening.

Mein (27-9) is the pride of Lethbridge, Alberta and made his way up the Canadian rankings until he got signed by Strikeforce. He went 2-1 under the Strikeforce banner and took a one-off bout with Score Fighting Series before making his UFC debut. In his first trip to the Octagon, “Young Guns” was able to finish Dan Miller in the very first round via TKO. In his second outing he lost to Matt Brown at last April’s UFC on FOX 7 event — the bout earned both combatants ‘Fight of the Night’ honors.

Ponzinibbio (18-2) will look to get back on track, as he lost his UFC debut to Ryan LaFlare at UFC Fight Night 32 this past November. Prior to that defeat, “El Rasta” was riding a seven-fight winning streak. Ponzinibbio made his name known after making it to the semi-finals of TUF Brazil 2.

No word as to where on the UFC on FOX 11 fight card the Mein vs. Ponzinibbio bout will take place.

UFC on FOX 11 takes place on April 19 from the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida. The main event is a heavyweight tussle between Travis Browne and Fabricio Werdum.
